With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Brett Cole Kester, who left this world on January 12, 2025, in Los Angeles, California, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born on July 14, 1961, in Madrid, Spain, Brett lived a life full of purpose, kindness, and joy.
Brett had a passion for helping others, working as both a Realtor and a Physical Trainer. Being an architectural enthusiast helped in finding people's health and home. As a physical trainer he combined his knowledge of fitness and wellness with his innate ability to connect with people. His expertise and dedication to health and wellness inspired many.
Brett was a valued member in the West Hollywood community due to his resolute commitment to always helping others with his generosity and kindness. He made LA feel like home for many which was an entirely altruistic act known to all who knew him.
He believed in giving back to the community he lived in and actively supported various organizations to help others in his community; APLA, Project Angel Food, PAWS LA, The American Red Cross, AHF, The Center, Trevor Project, Make a Wish Foundation, The Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids Foundation.
A man of many interests, Brett found joy in hiking local trails, walking his dog, cooking, baking, enjoying the LA lifestyle, and volunteering at Project Angel Food, where he gave his time to support those in need. His genuine compassion, caring nature, and fun-loving spirit made him a light in the lives of all who knew him.
Among his proudest accomplishments were his commitment to volunteering, earning his Bachelor's degree, and most of all, cherishing time with his family and friends. Brett was someone who made every moment count, and he will be remembered as a person who was loved and admired by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Annamae Meyer Kester, and his brother, Craig Kester. He leaves behind a family who will forever hold him in their hearts: his father, Bill; his three siblings, Kim, Bill Jr., and Vanesa, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Brett’s legacy of love, kindness, determination, and generosity will live on in the many lives he touched. His memory will be a beacon of light, reminding us all to live with the same warmth and compassion that he so effortlessly shared.
Rest in peace, Brett. You will be missed beyond measure.
