Charles G. Lochard, born on January 29, 1938, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2024, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after a courageous battle with leukemia.
Charles was a kind and loving gentleman whose strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to his family defined his life. He lived selflessly, always putting the needs of his loved ones before his own, and he was a true embodiment of kindness and compassion. Charles was not only an accomplished artist but also a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought joy and comfort to those around him. His gentle spirit and loving nature made him a beacon of warmth and support in the lives of all who knew him.
Through his artistry, Charles expressed his appreciation for life’s beauty and his deep connection to the world around him. His work captured both his talent and his thoughtful perspective, leaving behind a creative legacy that will continue to inspire and uplift others for years to come.
Above all else, Charles was a family man. He took immense pride in his role as a loving husband to Nancy, a supportive father to Jeff and Alexandra, and a doting grandfather to Nia and Gabrielle. His family was his greatest joy, and he worked tirelessly to provide them with love, security, and happiness. Whether celebrating milestones or sharing quiet moments, Charles made every memory special and meaningful.
He will be remembered most for his kind and gentle soul—a soul that radiated love, compassion, and understanding to everyone he encountered. Charles had an extraordinary ability to connect with people, offering comfort, encouragement, or simply a listening ear. His kindness knew no boundaries, and his legacy as a man of great heart and humility will live on in the stories and memories of those who loved him.
Charles is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his children Jeff and Alexandra, and his grandchildren Nia and Gabrielle. He was preceded in death by his sister Gladys and his nieces Myrtho, Rachel, and Marjorie.
A quiet Celebration of Life will be held on the second Saturday in February to honor Charles’ memory and the incredible impact he had on those around him.
Charles will be deeply missed, but his legacy as a kind and gentle soul, a devoted family man, a talented artist, and a compassionate friend will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know and love him.
