Francisco “Chico” Sánchez Cerdas passed away on March 15, 2025, in California, at the age of 68. Born in San José, Costa Rica, he was the sixth of fourteen siblings and the beloved son of Emilce and Sigifredo.
Chico grew up in a large, close-knit family and faced many challenges early in life, including the loss of his father when he was just 15 years old. Through resilience and determination, he carved out a life he was proud of—most notably earning a business degree and becoming a successful manager, a personal milestone he cherished deeply.
Known for his quick wit, Chico brought humor into every room he entered. He had a generous heart and found joy in giving—especially when it came to surprising loved ones.
He was passionate about cooking and soccer, spending countless hours in the kitchen and just as many in front of the TV, cheering for the Costa Rican national team and his favorite club, Herediano.
Chico is survived by his two daughters, his son, his brothers and sisters, as well as nieces and nephews who will forever remember his warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for his family.
His ashes will be brought home to Costa Rica, the place he always carried in his heart.
