Maria De Lourdes Bañuelos, a beloved mother, partner, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Los Angeles, California. Born on February 20, 1947, in Tequepexpan, Nayarit, she lived a life filled with love, resilience, and joy.
Maria was a vibrant soul who embraced life to the fullest. She found immense joy in dancing, exercising, and listening to her favorite oldies music. Her greatest passion, however, was the simple pleasure of relaxing at home with her love, Jesus Garcia, and cherishing time spent with her family, whom she held dear.
Known for her strong, happy, and talkative personality, Maria had a remarkable ability to remain calm and relaxed in the face of life’s challenges. She often said, "No pasa nada," embodying her carefree and optimistic approach to life. Maria had a unique way of connecting with her children—not only as a mother but also as a trusted friend. Open-minded and full of laughter, she approached both the good and the bad with a smile and humor, right up until her last breath.
God needed an energetic Angel, and Maria answered that call, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support.
Maria took great pride in her family, especially her six sons, her daughter, and her partner, Jesus Garcia. Seeing her children build their own families and lives was a source of profound happiness for her.
She is survived by her partner, Jesus Garcia, her children Alejandro Nevarez, Hermilo Nevarez, Elizabeth M. Nevarez, Yadir B. Nevarez, Jovany DeAlba, Abraham Garcia, and Ivan Garcia, as well as her cherished grandchildren: Jacqueline, Morayma, Michael, Alejandra, Yalexis, Sergio Jr., Alessandro, Angel, Alejandro, Jelitza, Selene, Leelu, Vannie, and Lucian.
Maria is reunited in eternal peace with her husband, Hermilo Nevarez, her mother, Margarita Altamirano, her father, Ramon Bañuelos, her stepfather, Francisco Rangel, and her granddaughter, Georgina Nevarez.
Maria's family will remember her as a loving, open-minded woman who lived life her way and loved deeply. Her laughter, strength, and joy will forever resonate in their hearts.
Maria was ready to meet her Creator, but she was not ready to leave her family. Her legacy will live on in the love she shared and the memories she created with those she held most dear.
