It is with deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Marie D'Angelo, a devoted mother, grandmother, and treasured friend. Marie passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, in Los Angeles, at the age of 93, due to natural causes. Born on June 23, 1931, in New York City, she lived a life filled with passion, ambition, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
As a second-generation Italian American, Marie was shaped by the strong, close-knit immigrant family that supported her throughout her life. Navigating the social mores of mid-century New York City, she rose to every occasion with a bold and fearless spirit. Marie’s ability to rise to the occasion and pursue her dreams and ambitions was apparent throughout her life, and it defined everything she did. She worked tirelessly to ensure that her family was loved, supported, and provided for, always putting the needs of her loved ones first.
Her career included a position at Elizabeth Arden New York City as primary guest contact. She took great pride in greeting clientele when the infamous “red doors” opened. She also enjoyed an adventurous and unexpected chapter as a news reporter where she showcased her courage, boldness, and commitment to overcoming challenges. Her unique journey reflected her fearless spirit and her willingness to rise to the occasion, no matter the challenge before her. Marie’s boldness in this role mirrored her approach to life—always ready to face whatever came her way with confidence and strength.
Marie’s proudest accomplishment, however, was always her family. She loved being a hostess, regularly opening her home to extended family and friends. Her home was a place of warmth, security, and comfort—a haven where laughter and love filled every corner. She dedicated herself to fostering a sense of connection and joy, creating a space where everyone felt safe, loved, and cherished.
Marie will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her ability to rise to any occasion, and her unwavering pursuit of her dreams. She lived life with passion and purpose, and she inspired all who knew her to do the same.
Marie is survived by her son Gregory, daughter-in-law Diane, and grandson Jack. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Gregory, and her parents Sabrina and James.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in her memory.
May Marie D'Angelo rest in eternal peace, forever remembered for her resilience, love, and the legacy she built for her family.
