Stephen Paul Taylor Obituary

December 28, 1951 – February 24, 2025

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Stephen Paul Taylor, a man who embraced life with charm, humor, and an undeniable sense of adventure. Born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, Stephen’s journey took him across the world, through thrilling racetracks, Hollywood sets, and moments of joy spent with those he loved. He passed away in Pasadena, California, due to complications from pneumonia, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Stephen worked hard for the life he enjoyed, and he truly lived it to the fullest. He was fun-loving and effortlessly charming, a man who appreciated the finer things in life—not because they were given to him, but because he had earned them through years of dedication and perseverance. He would want to be remembered just as he was: a dashing, witty, and hardworking man who made the most of every opportunity.

His love for horse racing defined much of his career. As a steeplechase jockey, he raced with passion, winning many competitions in England and Scotland. In 1975, he took a leap of faith and moved to the United States, where he built a successful career as a horse trainer at various racetracks across California. Later, he found another calling in Hollywood, working in set construction for major film studios. No matter the path, he approached his work with skill, determination, and pride.

Outside of work, Stephen found happiness in simple pleasures—playing golf, watching sports, sharing stories, and making people laugh. He never missed an opportunity to send a birthday or Christmas card, a small but meaningful way he showed his love. His presence was larger than life, and his absence leaves an undeniable void in the hearts of those who knew him.

Stephen is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Park; his siblings, Philip Taylor, Helen Jackson, and Wayne Taylor; and his nieces and nephews, Craig Jackson, Lucy Robinson, Samantha Taylor, Ellie Taylor, and Lewis Taylor and his grandchildren Taylor Rose Park ( Grand-daughter), Kevin Park Jr (grandson), Nathan Park ( grandson) and Kayden Park ( grandson). He was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Kenneth Taylor, and his nephew Mark Taylor.

Though he is no longer with us, Stephen’s spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the laughter he inspired, and the love he shared. He worked hard, he lived well, and he will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
