Walter C. Harris, born on August 14, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, passed away on October 22, 2024, in Los Angeles, California. His vibrant spirit and loving presence will forever resonate in the lives of those who knew him.
Walter was a man of many colors—kind-hearted, vibrant, and the life of every gathering. A true social butterfly, he had a unique ability to light up a room, bringing warmth and laughter wherever he went. His career as a model and interior designer was a testament to his creativity and impeccable taste, but it was his passions that truly defined him. Walter found joy in cooking and entertaining, creating unforgettable moments for his family and friends.
Walter was most proud of his family, his travel adventures, and his beautiful balcony garden—a personal sanctuary that reflected his love for beauty and nature. These accomplishments were not just milestones but expressions of the care, thought, and artistry that marked every aspect of his life.
Walter was preceded in death by his mother, Catherin Harris; his father, Eddie R. Harris; his brother, Van Harris; and his sister-in-law, Dr. Tameaka Gray EL. He leaves behind his sister, Armentha Harris; his stepmother, Jeanette Harris; his brothers, Lamont Gray (Deanna Gray) and Christopher Gray EL; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss him.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 17440 Revello Dr., Pacific Palisades, CA 90272.
Walter's poetic spirit lives on in his words:
The Unspoken Eye
The most powerful words are those that are never heard.
The most powerful visions are those that exist only in our dreams.
To hear and to see is to escape the illusion of what appears to be real.
Let the eye speak, listen.
